Our Foundation stage has a very personalised curriculum.

Detailed weekly planning and individual learning journeys ensure all our reception children enjoy a curriculum that takes into account their interests and age related starting points and builds on these through practitioner observations and formative assessments. The learning environment is arranged and managed to ensure children have access to learning opportunities across the prime and specific areas on a daily basis.

This term the children will be learning all about the people and friends that are important to them. They will also investigate people that they don't know but who are important to society through their occupations. The children will also experience daily maths and phonics sessions as well as having the opportunity to explore both indoors and outdoors.

Throughout this term, the children will be focusing on the 'Ice age' and 'Dinosaurs'. They will explore this time period by researching animals, climate and they in which people lived. They will be able to compare this to their own environment today, by looking at the living creatures, plants and flowers that exist. They will continue to have daily maths and phonics sessions and have access to both indoor and outdoor activities.

Throughout this term the focus will be on 'Minibeasts' and "Pirates and Mermaids'. There will be plenty of opportunities for the children to engage in role play and engage in discussions about key events in stories and poems. They will explore a range of materials and investigate creatures during forest school sessions. Daily maths and phonics sessions continue with plenty of opportunities for learning indoors and outdoors.
